Endgame by Carol Wyer

Review of Endgame by Carol Wyer

I have been desperate to find out what happened to DI Robyn Carter as her story really intrigued me. I have followed her through losing her husband as well as working with her cousin Ross to solve many despicable crimes. The last couple of books alluded to something about her husband which was hugely shocking and Robyn was understandably very hurt by this.

I was disappointed to find out there wouldn't be a sixth book in the series but beyond excited to discover that there would be a short story to explain what happened and ecstatic when I was given the opportunity to read it ahead of release day.

Well what can I say, Carol Wyer has certainly kept up with her usual fast paced narrative which had me on the edge of my seat. The story about Robyn's colleague's relative going missing was action packed and so easy to become absorbed in.

Robyn's story ended justly, proving she is a ballsy woman who doesn't take any crap from anybody. I felt sorry for the closure of one chapter of her life as all the way through the series I have felt her pain but I think we were left with a glimmer of happiness in the future for her personal life.

I will really miss the Robyn Carter series but I also really enjoy all of Carol's detective stories and am looking forward to the new Kate Young one.

Endgame is not going to be released as a standalone but will instead be a bonus on the fifth book in the series, The Chosen Ones which is available here Amazon If you would like to read our review of The Chosen Ones then please click here

I would like to say a huge thank you to Carol for writing such brilliant books and for letting me read them in advance, it's a real honour.
