The Winter Garden by Heidi Swain

Freya Fuller is estranged from her parents and has been following her childhood dream of becoming a gardener ever since. When an opportunity to design a winter garden opens up at a Victorian property in Nightingale Square, Freya jumps at the chance to make a fresh start. But while the majority of the residents are welcoming, local artist Finn seems determined to shut her out, and when Freya's family make a surprise appearance, it seems that her new life is about to come crashing down . . .

The Winter Garden is the perfect read this Christmas, promising snowfall, warm fires and breath-taking seasonal romance. Perfect for fans of Carole Matthews, Cathy Bramley and Sarah Morgan.

Our Review

What a wonderful wintry trip back to Nightingale Square.

Freya has been through a traumatic experience having lost a very close friend but after a chance encounter she is offered a job to create a Winter Garden for Winterfest.

She moves into a cottage in Nightingale square and soon gets to know all of the neighbours. It’s there that she meets the Norse God of a man called Finn who certainly gets her heart racing, despite them not quite hitting it off with each other.

I won’t spoil it by saying what his creations are but they sounded amazing and I really wanted to see them. There is a great deal of chemistry between Finn and Freya but that changes somewhat when his handsome brother Zak appears on the scene. I was pleased to see that once again the tight knit community of Nightingale Square came together to pull off another fantastic event which really drew me in.

This is a lovely gentle read by Heidi Swain with all my favourite things in it, a cute rescue dog called Nell, a handsome man, a leading lady who doesn’t suffer fools and the perfect setting.

This book will warm your cockles just in time for Christmas.

Sincerely

Book Angel x
