When former Olympic Swimmer, Michael Adams—now Canada’s hottest reality TV star— insults his fake showbiz wife on social media, he escapes the ensuing scandal and jumps on the first flight to Australia. Desperate to experience ordinary life again—if only for a few weeks—he becomes “Adam”, just another tourist traveling through the Outback. But with a reward out for his safe return and his fame’s nasty habit of catching up with him when he least expects, he needs a better disguise… and he’s just found it.
Sweet and scruffy British backpacker, Evie Blake, is taking a year out of her busy London life. Tired of lies and liars, she’s looking for adventure to heal her broken heart. So when the hot Canadian she meets at the campground offers to be her travel partner through Western Australia’s wild Kimberley region, she grabs the chance, unaware he’s got the world out looking for him.
He’s just a down-on-his-luck traveler, right?

Our Review
What a thoroughly unique, interesting and sexy debut from Giulia Skye.
The beautiful cover alone is enough to make me want to rush off on holiday and dip my toes in the water.
Michael Adams is an Olympic swimmer who became involved in a showbiz marriage following a stint in a reality show. Although his life looked perfect from the outside he had begun to hate everything about it and the only escape he could think of was to hide away in Australia where no one would recognise him.
Evie is also escaping her real life following heartbreak that has wounded her deeply and decides to backpack around the Australian outback.
The scene where they meet is so funny and Evie certainly gets more than she bargained for. When they meet there are fireworks instantly although neither of them let the other know straight away. Then a situation arises where they realise that they can help each other out.
What follows is an exciting journey travelling around the Australian outback with descriptions so vivid I felt as though I were kicking the red dusty sand with my shoes. Funny enough I was actually in Australia when I read the end of the book which really added to the feel of it.
Adam and Evie’s relationship, although awkward at first, eventually blossoms as they are able to slowly let their guards down, their interactions with each other were funny, angry and incredibly sexy. They immediately just seemed to get each other but that didn't make their relationship any easier. Neither of them found it easy to trust after things that had happened in their pasts and it was wonderful to see them enjoying the sights and each other. However twists and turns ensure that problems arise which threaten their happiness and that keeps the story interesting as they find they have a lot to work through.
I really enjoyed being in the man's point of view and to delve into his deeper thoughts as well as Evie's. I also thought it was an interesting angle to see how the effect of reality shows and showmances can have on people especially when the glitter wears off and the cameras stop filming and the reality of their lives is too awful to bear.
This is the perfect holiday read or one to warm you up in the cold winter months. I am already looking forward to the next book from Giulia Skye.
Sincerely
Book Angel x
